Wrexham can boast a strong squad as the promotion race heats up – and one player is taking an important step towards an injury return.
The business end of the season is on the horizon now with Wrexham inside the final three months of the campaign.
A third straight promotion is the target for Wrexham and Saturday’s 2-0 win at Northampton Town was a major boost.
That result – coupled with Wycombe Wanderers dropping points – meant Wrexham closed the gap to an automatic promotion spot to just two points.
The relentless nature of League One means that Wrexham are right back in action once again on Tuesday night, taking on Leyton Orient.
Phil Parkinson believes that his squad is strong enough and prepared for this hectic period as Wrexham chase success not just in League One, but also in the EFL Trophy.

Wrexham ace shares injury latest
One man who hasn’t been in contention is goalkeeper Callum Burton.
Summer signing Burton, snapped up after leaving Plymouth Argyle, was brought in as competition for Arthur Okonkwo.
When Okonkwo broke his wrist in November, Burton stepped up and looked very assured between the sticks.
Burton was praised by Parkinson as a rare bright spot in the defeat to Stockport County and looked to be a more than able deputy for Okonkwo.
Sadly, Burton’s run in the Wrexham team was brought to a rather abrupt halt as he suffered an injury against Barnsley in December.
Parkinson feared Burton would miss the rest of the season but there is at least some positivity emerging from Burton.
Posting on his Instagram stories on Monday, Burton shared a photo of his boots and gloves.
Burton’s caption read ‘Day 69 Post Op, back on the grass’ as he took an important step back towards fitness.
There is still a long way for Burton to go before he returns to action but seeing him back on the grass will be a boost for everybody around Wrexham.
Phil Parkinson won’t take any chances with Callum Burton
Burton will want to get back playing as quickly as possible, especially having turned in impressive displays when he came into the team.
Wrexham won’t want to take any risks with Burton though and may well just want to build him up before a strong pre-season return.
Parkinson has benched Okonkwo of late with veteran goalkeeper Mark Howard starting crucial League One games.
With those two battling it out for the number one jersey, Parkinson is in no great rush to get Burton back playing again.
Maybe we will see Burton in action again before the season ends, but even if that doesn’t happen, it’s great to see him back on the road to recovery after some strong showings earlier this season.
