Phil Parkinson guided Wrexham to a 2-1 victory over Blackpool on Thursday afternoon.
The Red Dragons were looking to continue their sensational record when playing at the Racecourse Ground when they faced Blackpool on Boxing Day.
Prior to kick-off, Wrexham were unbeaten on home soil in 2024/25, only dropping points in meetings with Huddersfield Town and Cambridge United.
Their undefeated streak quickly came under threat on Thursday, however, when former Middlesbrough striker Ashley Fletcher put Blackpool 1-0 up with just three minutes on the clock.
However, Paul Mullin scored a wonderful goal in the 24th minute to fire the Hollywood-owned club back on level terms.
Wrexham dominated the match from there but found a second goal hard to come by despite creating plenty of chances.
The deciding moment of the match came with two minutes of normal time to play and Phil Parkinson deserves a lot of credit for his role in it.

Phil Parkinson call for Wrexham penalty vs Blackpool was genius
Steven Fletcher was brought on for the third game in a row and fans were no doubt hoping to see a bit of magic from the Scotsman after his goal secured them a point against Cambridge earlier this month.
The 37-year-old was once again a real threat from the bench and won Wrexham the match after his shot hit Olly Casey’s hand in the Blackpool box to win the home team a penalty.
Fletcher stepped up to convert the ensuing spot-kick and claim the three points.
Now, as per Leader Live, assistant manager Steve Parkin has explained what Parkinson did after the penalty was awarded.
Mullin and Elliot Lee are the club’s main penalty takers but with neither on the pitch, it was unclear who would step up from 12 yards against Blackpool.
Parkin has now revealed that the Wrexham manager did not nominate anyone to do so, instead letting the players decide between themselves so that the most confident player would take it.
It was a moment of genius from the 57-year-old and certainly the right call.
Parkin explained: “Mulls practices them in training but he was off the pitch so it was quite interesting to think who was going to take it because we weren’t quite sure.
“The gaffer made a good point. He just said ‘let then sort it out between themselves. The confident one will be the one that wants to take it’.
“We were all delighted when Fletch put the ball down. He is in that kind of mood at the moment, he made a difference when he came on. He was terrific and slotted it away nicely.”

When was the last time Wrexham were awarded a penalty
Wrexham have been on the receiving end of some unwanted penalty calls already this season.
Lewis Brunt committed a foul inside his own box against Cambridge which led to his side dropping two points.
However, Thursday’s spot-kick was the first time the Red Dragons have actually been awarded a penalty in 2024/25.
Prior to that, their last chance to score from 12 yards came all the way back on March 29th versus Mansfield Town.
On Wrexham’s long wait for a penalty, Parkin said: “It’s the first time we’ve had a penalty this season, we were talking about it the other day.
“I didn’t know it was March but such a long time since we had a penalty.
“Whether it was or it wasn’t, Fletch put it away nicely and we’ve had them against us so you just have to move on from it.”
