Wrexham manager, Phil Parkinson has opened up about the new temporary Kop stand at The Racecourse.
It has been a great start to the season for Wrexham as they have taken to life back into the EFL like ducks to water.
With Phil Parkinson at the helm, things have gone from strength to strength on the pitch. This has been paired with some excellent off-the-pitch developments.
Since Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds purchased the club in 2020, they have done their utmost for the club and community. One of the pair’s main aims was to redevelop the Kop stand at The Racecourse.

The demolition of the stand took place last year and had been left empty ever since. Last week the club announced a temporary stand would be used for the rest of this season.
What has Phil Parkinson said about the Kop stand?
The Wrexham manager has reacted to the new stand which has left fans happy this week. Following pictures being released by the club, fans have reacted on social media.
These were taken well and now in an interview with Leader Live, Parkinson has made his feelings on the temporary Kop stand clear.
On that, he said: “I think it is a great decision from the club and we are looking forward to seeing that erected in the coming weeks.
“It is great for us to have that extra couple of thousand people but not only that, for the atmosphere behind that goal as well. We are very excited about that.”
With the stand being missing for the past year, the capacity of The Racecourse has been compromised. Although this hasn’t affected the great atmosphere for the most part, having an additional stand, it will only get better.
Continuing, Parkinson added to that point: “Definitely, it is so important. The atmosphere at The Racecourse has been key for us in the time I have been at the club and that will only enhance it. The temporary stand looks good.”
Given that the new stand will be built in the coming years, this stand provides a useful solution for the moment. It provides a chance for more fans to get hold of tickets and allow for a better atmosphere around the ground.
Although it isn’t the new stand that everyone was hoping for, for now, it will serve a purpose. It is clear that the manager is happy so Wrexham fans can take that and share that feeling.
