Jay Rodriguez is among eight players who will be removed from Wrexham’s books during the summer of 2026.
Rodriguez is one of the highest earners at the Racecourse Ground following his January move from Burnley.
It’s claimed that the striker is taking home £25,000-a-week or £1.3m-a-year with his current Wrexham deal.
However, Rodriguez and eight more players are due to be out of contract in June 2026, which will see the Red Dragons save a seven-figure sum.

Wrexham will recoup £3.46m when eight players’ contracts expire
At present, eight players will leave Wrexham in June 2026, including Manchester City loanee Issa Kabore and on-loan left-back Jacob Mendy.
There are also several youngsters, such as Aaron James, who are due to be out of contract next summer.
| Player | Wage per year at Wrexham |
| Jay Rodriguez | £1.3m |
| Issa Kabore | £780,000 |
| Matty James | £780,000 |
| Andy Cannon | £312,000 |
| James Rainbird | £52,000 |
| Aaron James | £46,800 |
| Max Purvis | £39,000 |
| Jacob Mendy | £156,000 |
If all eight players move on at the end of their contracts, Wrexham’s wage bill would decrease by £3,465,800.
It currently stands at around £18m-a-year, but that figure could change as early as January, with at least one new arrival expected.

Wrexham plot January transfer after green light for Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac
Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac will let Wrexham sign a new striker in the 2026 winter transfer window.
Exactly who that will be remains to be seen, but if they are an experienced player, they will likely want Championship-level wages.
Should a centre-forward arrive in January, Wrexham will need to drop a player from their 25-man squad.
Ollie Rathbone’s return means there are no spaces left in the team, so somebody like Elliot Lee or Callum Burton will have to make way.
Lee was allowed to leave in the summer, while Burton is the third-choice goalkeeper option behind Danny Ward and Arthur Okonkwo.
If one of their current players is removed from the squad, Wrexham may well, just like they have done recently with George Evans and Ollie Palmer, terminate contracts so stars can move on for free as early as January.
