Wrexham are creating history with their meteoric rise through the English football pyramid in recent seasons.
Phil Parkinson’s men currently sit in second place in League One and are on course to achieve a history-making third successive promotion.
Paul Merson believes Wycombe are under ‘severe pressure’ with the Chairboys having the tougher run in on paper, they are still to face six out of the top nine teams in the division.
However, the Opta Supercomputer has predicted Wrexham to miss out on promotion, their 1-0 win over Stockport County was a vital step towards their goal but within the game an unwanted record was broken for the Red Dragons.

Wrexham break disciplinary record in clash with Stockport
In what was a feisty encounter at the Racecourse Ground, Wrexham broke an unwanted disciplinary record during their clash with rivals Stockport County.
Stockport themselves had Brad Hills sent off in the second half however, as per Wrexham AFC Archive on their X account, Parkinson’s men had seven players booked for the first time in the club’s history.
Wrexham are yet to receive a red card this season but their emotions got the better of them in the clash with Stockport as a club record was set with James McClean and George Dobson perhaps lucky to stay on the pitch.
There were also cautions for the likes of Eoghan O’Connell and Arthur Okonkwo whilst Sam Smith and Steven Fletcher were also booked in their efforts to defend from the front. Ollie Rathbone made up the historic seventh.
Humphrey Ker revealed the ‘needle’ between Wrexham and Stockport
Wrexham’s community director Humphrey Ker revealed the ‘needle’ between Wrexham and Stockport during the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary series.
Ker stated: “Last game of the season is Stockport, there is a little bit of needle between Stockport and Wrexham.”

Despite the total of ten cards brandished in the match it was Wrexham who came out on top and secured that all important three points.
Attentions for Parkinson’s side now turn Exeter away in their fixture whilst promotion rivals Wycombe host Lincoln City at Adams Park.
