Wrexham have their work cut out when they welcome Mansfield Town to the Racecourse Ground this weekend.

The League One promotion race is firmly heating up as we head toward the November international break.

Coventry City may hand Wrexham a boost in their promotion hunt by weakening Wycombe Wanderers.

After winning their last five, Wycombe go into the weekend sat top of the third tier with Birmingham City just behind them with a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Wrexham have dropped down to third after drawing back-to-back games against Huddersfield Town and Charlton Athletic.

Now, there is a chance Phil Parkinson’s side could drop out of the play-off places altogether this weekend.

Wrexham are sat on 25 points having played 13 matches but there are just three points separating them and seventh-place Huddersfield.

In turn, the meeting with fourth-place Mansfield Town is already looking like a must-win for Wrexham if they want to keep their promotion push looking strong.

Thomas O’Connor message to Wrexham fans ahead of Mansfield Town

However, Wrexham should fancy themselves as favourites going into the Saturday lunchtime kick-off.

This is because their record at the Racecourse Ground in 2024/25 has been superb so far.

The Red Dragons are one of just a few EFL sides still unbeaten at home this term and, as per Leader Live, defender Thomas O’Connor has now called on the Wrexham faithful to help the club get over the line against Mansfield.

He said: “If the game is tight, we are level or there is one goal in it, the crowd can help suck the ball into the goal.

“Definitely over the last few years, the Racecourse has been a real fortress for us but we don’t take it for granted.

“We know teams are going to come here and try to stamp their authority and do their best to get something from the game.

“We know we will have to be up for it against Mansfield but hopefully with the crowd behind us, we can get over the line.”

Key Wrexham vs Mansfield Town stats

With a lot riding on this game, Wrexham fans may be interested to see some key stats relating to both teams and we have picked out some of the best.

Wrexham have won just one of their last seven league games against Mansfield Town, drawing four and losing two.

However, the Stags have failed to win any of their last five away league matches against the Welsh side.

And perhaps the most important stat, Wrexham have won nine of their last 10 home league fixtures, with the only exception the aforementioned 0-0 draw with Huddersfield.
