Wrexham have had a positive week following a battling display against Birmingham City and the confirmation of Ryan Longman signing for the club.
Phil Parkinson praised his players’ efforts in the 1-1 draw with League One leaders Birmingham City as Ollie Rathbone’s wonder strike was cancelled out by a Lyndon Dykes header.
Parkinson has highlighted Wrexham’s away form as the area that could be the difference between gaining promotion or spending another season at this level.
Off the pitch, the club have made their first January signing with Wrexham confirming the signing of Ryan Longman from Hull City.

Wrexham fans impressed with new signing Ryan Longman

Wrexham fans have been taking to X following the announcement and are excited by the prospect of Longman. One fan simply wrote: “Welcome to Wrexham Ryan.”
Another fan wrote: “I can’t tell you how long I’ve wanted this man to sign! Welcome to Wrexham!”
One fan believes they may have already seen the reasoning behind signing Longman with this tactical analysis, they wrote: “Some fresh young blood to really inject pace into the attack, can give us option of playing down the wing instead of midfield and get ball into the box from crosses more quicker and can cut inside to act as an extra striker.”
Wrexham beat Championship competition to secure Longman
Wrexham fought off competition from Oxford United to sign Longman amid their bid to sign Championship-proven quality to aid the promotion push.
Longman’s versatility has no doubt attracted Parkinson to his signature with the winger having played as a striker and a wing-back in his career so far.
| Position | Appearances |
| Right wing | 42 |
| Centre Forward | 40 |
| Left wing | 28 |
| Left midfield | 24 |
| Right midfield | 24 |

| Right back | 1 |
It is expected that three players could now leave Wrexham following the arrival of Longman, including Luke Bolton and Modou Faal.
Fans are not expected to have to wait long to see Longman in a Wrexham shirt as he could make his debut against Stevenage at the Racecourse Ground in the next game.
