Wrexham are looking to land Aaron Cresswell on a free transfer, but his current shirt number has already been taken by one player.
The Red Dragons are on the lookout for Premier League-quality players this summer.
Talks with Ben Davies and Danny Ings have been held in recent weeks. Ings will become a free agent soon, while Tottenham extended Davies’ contract, but Wrexham remain interested.
As well as Ings, another current West Ham United star, Aaron Cresswell, is of interest to the Welsh outfit.
We learned last week that Wrexham have offered a contract to Cresswell, as well as Wolverhampton Wanderers centre-back, Craig Dawson, as both players prepare to run out their deals with West Ham and Wolves.

Wrexham shirt numbers for Aaron Cresswell
Wrexham released eight players when they announced their retained list in May, meaning a number of shirt numbers have since become available.
Steven Fletcher’s 26 and Mark Howard’s 21 are now up for grabs, though defenders do tend to prefer a lower number.
On that front, the lowest number currently available to Cresswell, should he sign, is the number 2, which was last worn by Reece Hall-Johnson before his exit in 2023.

Lewis Brunt has Aaron Cresswell’s favoured shirt number
Cresswell began his senior career at Tranmere Rovers’ number 18 before quickly accruing the number 3.
Since 2009/10, including spells with Tranmere, Ipswich Town, and many years at West Ham, Cresswell has kept the same number.
However, the number 3 shirt is currently being worn by Lewis Brunt at Wrexham.
