Wrexham are hoping to make a new signing in the coming days with Phil Parkinson pushing for an important signing.
Wrexham fans have been expecting January business with promotion to the Championship the ultimate goal.
Shaun Harvey suggested that Wrexham have money to spend this month but January has been quiet so far.
Wrexham have yet to secure a first January signing but one major rumour has now emerged.
Reports on Tuesday suggested that Wrexham are closing in on signing Ryan Longman from Hull City.
Oxford United are still pushing to sign Longman but Wrexham are hoping to complete a £500,000 hijack for the versatile talent.

Ryan Longman already knows two Wrexham stars well
Longman would provide great flexibility for Wrexham if a deal can be done.
The 24-year-old can operate as a winger or wing back on either side whilst he even has some experience as a striker.
Phil Parkinson would surely love to use Longman in a variety of roles and his arrival may appal to two current Wrexham stars.
Longman spent the 2020-21 season on loan at AFC Wimbledon, scoring eight goals in 44 League One games.
That meant featuring alongside now-Wrexham duo George Dobson and Ollie Palmer during his time at Plough Lane.
Wimbledon avoided relegation from League One by just four points that season with Longman’s goals proving vital.
The trio could now reunite at Wrexham but rather than battling relegation, they would be chasing promotion together.

George Dobson highlighted Wimbledon connection
We have seen Parkinson move for players who already know members of the Wrexham squad.
From last summer alone, Lewis Brunt and Sebastian Revan knew each other at Aston Villa and Callum Burton played alongside Paul Mullin at Cambridge United.
Ollie Rathbone played with Andy Cannon at Rochdale and Dan Scarr featured alongside Burton at Plymouth Argyle.
These connections have been crucial to building a tight-knit squad with new players often arriving to familiar faces at Wrexham.
That would be the case for Longman and Dobson actually highlighted his Wimbledon connection with Palmer after signing for Wrexham.
Dobson also knew Eoghan O’Connell and Elliot Lee from Charlton Athletic and explained those relationships helped.
“When you go to a new club and you don’t know anyone, it is sometimes a little bit harder to settle straight away,” said Dobson. “I’m close with Eoghan, Ell and Ollie, so I feel like the settling in process is going to be really easy and they’ve said what a great group of lads it is and obviously the gaffer has as well, so yeah, I feel like it’s going to be a really easy settle,” he added.
Longman may well experience a similar arrival at Wrexham, but the pressure is now on to try and finalise that hijack on Oxford.
