The narrative of Wrexham has dramatically changed since February 2021 and the takeover from their Hollywood owners.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac reinvigorated the club with their investment, and this has seen them climb through the English football pyramid from the National League to the Championship.
Prior to this, the club had been a sleeping giant languishing outside the EFL, longing for the days of playing second-tier football; now this has arrived 43 years later.
To achieve this, the club have invested heavily in players through the last four seasons, with Wrexham spending £33 million this summer to bring in quality players for the Championship.
This investment brought some strikers to the club in the shape of Josh Windass, Ryan Hardie and Kieffer Moore, who leads a unique Championship stat this campaign.
There will be a hope these strikers can have a similar impact to the five players who are the top goalscorers in the Red Dragons’ history, according to Transfermarkt.
Wrexham’s Top Five All-Time Goalscorers
5. Elliot Lee (39 Goals)
A name familiar to recent Wrexham fans, as he has been a pivotal member of the club’s rise through the divisions. While not a striker, Elliot Lee operated as an attacking midfielder, and he had a natural ability to arrive in the box late to finish off chances, an incredible trait which has been invaluable.
In 147 games, he’s netted 39 goals, maintaining a solid 0.27 goals-per-game ratio, and he played a key role in their campaign to rise to the Championship, as he scored eight goals and provided three assists in the 2024/25 season.
4. Ollie Palmer (42 Goals)
The striker left the club this summer to join a League Two club he has impressed at after Ollie Palmer scored for Swindon Town at the weekend against Newport County.
Palmer made 149 appearances, scoring 42 goals, a 0.28 goals-per-game record that highlights his consistency as he helped the Red Dragons rise through the English football pyramid.
While his contribution was not as impressive in the 2024/25 season, as he only scored three goals, providing two assists in 27 league appearances (26 starts), he was an important player in their promotion due to his physical presence and ability to bring others into play, proving crucial.

3. Andy Morrell (44 goals)
A true Wrexham legend is next on the list, a man who not only played for the Red Dragons but also managed them too. Andy Morrell was a talented forward during his playing days at the Racecourse Ground. Across 196 games, he found the back of the net 44 times, averaging 0.22 goals per game.

His record may be considered better than others on this list due to his dedication and ability having to shine through during tough times at the club before the takeover. His contribution on and off the pitch will always be fondly remembered by Wrexham fans as he delivered the FA Trophy in 2013.
2. Karl Connolly (44 goals)
Karl Connolly scored the exact same number of goals for the Welsh club as Morrell; however, he was able to acquire this record in fewer games, seeing him higher up the list, as he accumulated 44 goals, maintaining an impressive 0.27 goals per game ratio across 161 matches.
He was a crucial piece of the Welsh club’s setup during the late 1990s and the early 2000s as Wrexham were bravely competing in the EFL.

1. Paul Mullin (105 goals)

Nobody on this list, or in the history of Wrexham, even comes close to the record of their top goalscorer, Paul Mullin. The striker was a transformative figure for the club, as he was their marquee signing in the National League and was key to their rise to the Championship.
In just 165 games, he has scored an incredible 105 goals, boasting an astounding 0.64 goals per game ratio. His prolificacy in the National League (47 goals in 2022/23) and League Two (26 goals in 2023/24) firmly cemented his legend, making him the most impactful forward in the club’s recent history.
