Wrexham have once again seized the initiative in the League One promotion race after defeating Blackpool.
James McClean revealed Rob McElhenney’s pep talk before the clash and it worked as goals from McClean himself and Ollie Rathbone secured a vital 2-1 victory.
Paul Mullin sent a message of support to his team mates celebrating the win that gives Wrexham back control of their own destiny and could even earn promotion at the Racecourse Ground against Charlton.
Wrexham fans lauded Dan Scarr for his performance in central defence after having not played much football in recent months but another player was the star of the show for Phil Parkinson.

George Dobson stars for Phil Parkinson in Wrexham win
There were some incredible performances in the Wrexham player ratings v Blackpool but one player that really shone for the Red Dragons was George Dobson in midfield.
Dobson was left out for Elliot Lee in the previous match, a 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers, as Parkinson tried to inject more creativity into the middle of the park.
However, the 27-year-old showed that he can also get on the ball and make things happen for this Wrexham side, playing an instrumental role in the victory.
Dobson produced a fantastic cross-field pass to set up McClean for the opening goal and ran the show from midfield, driving forward with the ball and creating chances.
He should have had another assist when his clever pass put Jay Rodriguez through on goal but he shot straight at the keeper.
