‘Pinch’ me moment for Max Cleworth as Wrexham prepare for Leicester City
Wrexham will look to make unique history in the Championship, as they look to win three consecutive away games for the first time ever in the club’s history in the second tier as they face Leicester City.
Only four seasons ago the Red Dragons were playing their football in the National League and this realisation has dawned on defender Max Cleworth, as they are now set to face a former Premier League champion in the same division.

As reported by the BBC, he said: “When you think back to three years ago and some of the away days in the National League, now we are going to the King Power,” he said.
“You do have to pinch yourself a little bit. It’s something we have to enjoy and then go out there and put in a good performance for the fans, who will once again travel in numbers.
“These are the games you want to play when you come up to the Championship.”

Wrexham and Leicester’s eventful last 10 years
Leicester City won the Premier League in 2016, with one of the most surprising title campaigns in the history of sport; while, Wrexham were competing in the National League at the time.
For the next several seasons the Welsh side would be competing at this level while the Foxes would be battling for European qualification and lifting the FA Cup.
However, things would change after Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac assumed ownership of the Red Dragons as they began their journey through the English pyramid and within four years the club are now in the Championship.

Meanwhile, for Leicester as Wrexham were earning their first of three consecutive promotions they were beginning to yo-yo between the Championship and Premier League, as they were relegated then promoted across the last three seasons.
Now the pair will square off as their paths have met after an eventful 10 years for both clubs.
