Wrexham stepped up when they needed to most with a fantastic display to beat Blackpool in League One.
Promotion is now in Wrexham’s hands following that win at Bloomfield Road where Phil Parkinson hinted at Steve Bruce’s mistake in allowing the Red Dragons too much space to exploit.
James McClean and Ollie Rathbone were on the score sheet, whilst George Dobson was exceptional from midfield as Parkinson’s side produced a stunning performance to move above Wycombe.
Attentions now turn to another huge clash at the Racecourse Ground against high-flying Charlton Athletic, who themselves have entered the promotion picture. Parkinson is facing a real selection headache ahead of the game.

Phil Parkinson faced with Dan Scarr and Eoghan O’Connell dilemma
Wrexham fans hailed Dan Scarr for his ‘monstrous’ performance in the victory over Blackpool and it was made even more impressive considering it was his first start since February in the EFL Trophy semi final defeat.
Scarr had replaced the injured Eoghan O’Connell at half time during the previous clash with Bristol Rovers and kept his place in the side with the Irish defender not fully recovered from his knock.
O’Connell himself is Humphrey Ker’s player of the season for Wrexham and has been outstanding in the promotion run in with his commanding displays at the back.
Now Parkinson faces a real selection dilemma for the mammoth game against Charlton, it’s a managerial decision that could determine the fate of the club next season – Championship or League One.

Up against a real tough opponent in Blackpool’s Ashley Fletcher, Scarr stood up to the test and passed with flying colours.
He was dominant in the air and marshalled Max Cleworth and Lewis Brunt either side of him well enough that O’Connell’s absence was barely noticeable.

The 30-year-old defender has had to be patient to get his chance to shine but he grasped the opportunity with both hands.
Having made just 12 appearances in the league this season, he could now be the man to lead Wrexham’s back three into the biggest game the club has seen for decades.
