Wrexham are travelling to the Netherlands for the final game of their pre-season preparations.
Phil Parkinson could give debuts to four of his new signings as his side face Groningen before the big one at St Mary’s the following weekend.
Lewis O’Brien and Josh Windass will be hoping to get some minutes under their belts and provide some energy and quality to Wrexham’s midfield.
The Red Dragons have made six signings so far this summer and another three deals are edging ever closer. One particular player could bring back memories of former fan favourite Ben Foster.

Wrexham signing of Conor Coady mirrors Ben Foster influence
Conor Coady has passed a medical at Wrexham ahead of a £2m transfer from Championship rivals Leicester City.
The England international will arrive at the Racecourse Ground to add another option to Parkinson’s back line and is expected to feature in the middle of the back three alongside Max Cleworth and Lewis Brunt.
Despite a torrid spell at Leicester City, Coady represents an excellent piece of business from the club and mirrors the capture of Foster from back in 2023.
Foster arrived at Wrexham and had a massive influence on the club both on and off the pitch during his spell at the club.
The goalkeeper helped to raise the profile of the club but also provided experience and leadership on the pitch to help get the club over the line in the National League title race.
Coady will have a similar role upon his arrival. He is a marquee signing for the club but is a player that comes with a great reputation for what he stands for in the dressing room.
Parkinson is known to like good characters in the dressing room and Coady will certainly take on an important role both on and off the pitch during his time in North Wales.
What Sean Dyche once said about Conor Coady
Jamie Carragher’s prediction about Coady has come true in that the former Liverpool defender tipped the 32-year-old to become a ‘top’ Championship defender.
Wrexham will be hoping that he can slot into the side and help push the Red Dragons as far up the league table this season as possible.
Coady is a well-respected figure throughout the game and as per the Liverpool Echo, his former manager at Everton Sean Dyche was a big fan of his professionalism.
Dyche stated: “He’s [Coady] been an immaculate professional, which everyone in the game has always suggested he is. And now I work with him I can see why, because he is.
“The fine margins of football and who to play for what reasons, and I just made a call on it, that was all. He’s a high quality footballer, that’s for sure. Fantastic attitude and a leader.”
Coady will have a positive impact on Cleworth and Brunt and Parkinson will be hoping the trio can form a formidable defensive barrier in the upcoming campaign.
