Wrexham pushed hard to sign one player for Phil Parkinson over the summer who has begun the 2024/25 season in poor form.
Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds backed Phil Parkinson well during the 2024 summer transfer window.
Nine players were brought to the Racecourse Ground and several have been key to Wrexham sitting top of League One after seven fixtures.
One area the Welsh outfit really struggled to strengthen in during the summer, however, was the striker department.
Wrexham wanted to sign Will Lankshear on loan from Tottenham Hotspur but after initially being open to a temporary exit, manager Ange Postecoglou decided to keep the youngster in north London.
Lankshear may regret not joining Wrexham this summer though, as he has since failed to feature in any Premier League game for the Lilywhites this season and looks to be facing another campaign playing with the U21s.
Aside from Lankshear, Wrexham were front runners to sign Bailey Cadamarteri on loan from Sheffield Wednesday at one point over the summer.

Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds avoided Bailey Cadamarteri transfer blunder at Wrexham
Despite initially looking clear favourites to get a deal for the 19-year-old over the line, a League One rival then joined the transfer race.
Lincoln City emerged as leaders in the race to sign Cadamarteri before eventually agreeing a season-long loan deal with Sheffield Wednesday for the player.
At the time, this looked to be a major blow for McElhenney and Reynolds but the Hollywood duo should now be glad the Imps beat them to the teenage forward.
Cadamarteri had previously excelled in the Championship so, naturally, he was expected to thrive when dropping down a division.
However, things have not gone to plan for the striker and while Wrexham are not likely to be pleased a player is struggling, they should be glad they did not sign him.
Cadamarteri has so far made four appearances for Lincoln and is yet to score a goal, with his overall displays looking well below par and nowhere near the level he showed in 2023/24.

Wrexham owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds found a better alternative to Bailey Cadamarteri
Losing out to Cadamarteri, who was previously dubbed ‘dangerous’ by Danny Rohl, was a big blow for Wrexham at the time, made worse by the fact it was going to strengthen a League One rival.
However, McElhenney and Reynolds should be happy with the player they signed instead of the Owls starlet.
Wrexham signed Modou Faal for a club-record fee of £590,000 at the end of August and he looks a much better addition than Cadamarteri.
The latter would have only signed for the club on a temporary basis before returning to Yorkshire in 2025.
Faal, meanwhile, has the ability to go on and become a key figure at the Racecourse for years to come.
He is yet to integrate himself fully into Parkin’s staring line-up but when he does, big things are expected of the former West Brom starlet.
