Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have splashed the cash this summer, leaving Phil Parkinson with an incredible squad to utilise for the upcoming Championship season.

The Red Dragons are a week away from kicking off in the 2025/26 Championship season, their first second-tier campaign in 45 years.

There was uncertainty as to whether Wrexham could step up to the Championship, but they have done brilliantly in their preparations so far.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have done impeccably well to help the club acquire some brilliant talent in the summer window, and many more players are still set to arrive.

Nathan Broadhead is set to join from Ipswich Town, whilst Conor Coady is nearing a move to Wrexham. Sheffield United forward Kieffer Moore is also set to join Wrexham this summer.

As a result, we looked at how Wrexham could line up if they manage to get all three deals over the line.

How Wrexham could line up following successful transfer business

It is expected that Phil Parkinson will continue with his trusty 3-5-2 formation that has helped deliver success to Wrexham in recent years, and the signings he has made point towards that formality continuing.

The Wrexham boss will certainly turn to Arthur Okonkwo in between the sticks, with Max Cleworth and Lewis Brunt continuing in the side. At the heart of the defence, Parkinson would likely start Conor Coady, providing that they can get a deal over the line for the former England international.

Into midfield, the ongoing injury issues sustained by Ollie Rathbone would see George Thomason slot into the centre of the park alongside fellow new signing James McClean, with Liberato Cacace and Ryan Longman on either side.

In a more advanced role, Parkinson would likely choose new signing Josh Windass, with potentially Ryan Hardie and Nathan Broadhead at striker.

Why Phil Parkinson may opt for Ryan Hardie over Kieffer Moore

It looks likely that Sheffield United and Welsh international striker Kieffer Moore will join Wrexham this summer for £4m as Phil Parkinson looks to bolster his attacking options.

However, there will be plenty of debate as to who Parkinson will turn to alongside Nathan Broadhead.

The facts are that Ryan Hardie has endured an entire pre-season at Wrexham, so will likely get the nod ahead of Moore initially, something that could become a permanent decision if the former Plymouth Argyle forward shines for the Red Dragons.

Parkinson is set to have a difficult decision to make when deciding between his strikers, but that wealth of choice is crucial for a team with ambition in the Championship.
