Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have already made their feelings on Wrexham striker Paul Mullin very clear.
Signed all the way back in the summer of 2021, Paul Mullin was the first big name to arrive in the Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney era at Wrexham.
Reynolds and McElhenney were sent a Mullin warning by club chief Shaun Harvey ahead of his arrival from Cambridge United.
But they thankfully did not listen and instead opted to throw everything at the striker to secure his signature.
It’s been a wonderful journey for the club and player since, which has included two promotions for Wrexham and over 100 goals for the Englishman.
Now, however, Mullin’s Wrexham future has been cast heavily into doubt in 2025.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney will want to keep Paul Mullin at Wrexham
Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez’s arrivals in late January mean Phil Parkinson now has seven natural centre-forwards competing for just two starting berths.
This obviously means some players will see a lot fewer minutes, and along with Ollie Palmer, Mullin has largely been frozen out of the League One squad in recent weeks.
Palmer hasn’t been selected for any of the last eight matchday squads, while the 30-year-old was on the bench versus Mansfield Town but he too hasn’t played since January 28th.
On expert thinks Mullin is nearing the end of his road with the Red Dragons, while fans have demanded the Wrexham striker return.
While it would make sense for the club to move on some of their current number nines in the 2025 summer transfer window, it does seem unlikely that Rob and Ryan will want one of them to be their top goal scorer from the previous three seasons.
Speaking in March 2024, McElhenney made a big Mullin claim, stating: “The more games this man plays, the bigger the club will continue to get.”
It’s easy to see why the Always Sunny star had this view, given how crucial the Liverpool-born forward has been for the Welsh outfit during their rise in the last four years.
Reynolds has praised Mullin on multiple occasions as well, including earlier this season, and in 2023 when he said, as per the Mirror: “This guy is a hero.”
The Wrexham owners, to the benefit of the club, are all about building brands and images, and whether by design or simply due to how good he has been in recent campaigns, Mullin has certainly become ‘Mr Wrexham’ in the eyes of many.
In turn, even if he’s no longer going to be playing regularly, Rob and Ryan have already given him a contract until 2027, and it seems obvious, owing to his service and how much they clearly love him, that Mullin won’t be moved on in the summer unless he asks to go.

Wrexham strikers could leave in summer transfer window
While Mullin probably won’t deprate, it remains clear that Wrexham will need to shake up their striker ranks in the upcoming window.
Owing to his age and lack of experience, Modou Faal will most likely be loaned out in the 2025/26 season.
Steven Fletcher is out of contract in June, and as he’s already 37, he probably won’t be offered another contract.
The future of Ollie Palmer is interesting as well, while Jack Marriott only signed a new contract in 2024/25 but is no longer starting many matches.
