Wrexham are still riding high following their impressive 3-0 victory over Burton Albion that moved them six points clear of Wycombe Wanderers.
Two moments of brilliance from Sam Smith in the second half inspired Wrexham to another win at the Racecourse Ground and to within touching distance of League One promotion.
Wrexham’s promotion permutation is now simple in the fact that Phil Parkinson’s side have their destiny in their own hands and five wins would secure a remarkable third successive promotion.
One of the heroes from the win over Burton was Steven Fletcher and after the game, Fletcher teased Wrexham fans over his future at the club with his contract expiring in the summer. A potential new deal could impact on the rest of the Wrexham squad.

Steven Fletcher’s Wrexham future could impact Modou Faal
Should Fletcher extend his stay in North Wales by signing a new contract, it would leave Modou Faal with a decision to make about his own future at the club.
Faal has moved above Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer in the pecking order under Parkinson having been selected for the matchday squad against Reading recently – coming on as a substitute late on.
The 22-year-old forward has made 17 appearances in all competitions this season and as per the Leader, has been described as ‘hungry’ by his manager.
A new deal for Fletcher however would see his first-team opportunities limited once again and with his enthusiasm to play regular football, a loan move for Faal could be in the offing come the summer transfer window.
Faal’s future could still lie in League One
Should Faal look for a loan move in the summer, he would be an excellent acquisition for sides within League One as he has already proven to be a handful at this level.
Faal has scored four times this season, three of those coming in the EFL Trophy run to the semi finals where the Red Dragons eventually lost on penalties to Peterborough United.

His raw pace and physical presence is a handful for any opposition defence and throughout the campaign, Faal has shown an improvement on the ball and with his ability to hold the ball up.
Another season at this level, gaining regular first-team minutes and Wrexham could still yet have a future star on their hands.
