Welcome to Wrexham has been a huge success, and Season 5 could get a brand-new story.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac’s decision to launch a documentary covering their journey as football club owners was a stroke of genius.
Their already high-profile names, coupled with the success of Welcome to Wrexham, has brought a worldwide audience to the Racecourse Ground in the last four and a half years.
The series provides viewers with an in-depth look into the lives of their favourite players and other key figures such as Humphrey Ker and Shaun Harvey.
Now, the latest season, which is covering the 2025/26 campaign, could feature an exciting new story that has never been covered before.

Welcome to Wrexham can feature historic cup run
While Reynolds and Mac have brought much success to North Wales, a proper cup run has been lacking.
Success in the Carabao Cup or FA Cup has never been the main priority, but the Red Dragons, even when using fringe players, have managed to make history this season.
Wrexham beat Hull City in the first round after Ollie Palmer’s brace, in what would prove to be his final game, sent the tie to penalties.
In the second round, the Dragons bested Preston North End to book their place in the third round for the first time this century.
On Tuesday, Wrexham beat Reading 2-0, meaning they are now in the last-16 for the first time since the 1977/78 campaign.
It remains to be seen just how far the Welsh powerhouse can progress in the cup, but it’s certainly an interesting story and one the Welcome to Wrexham producers should be looking to cover, especially if they draw a big name in the next round.

Phil Parkinson wants to face big team in Carabao Cup
Phil Parkinson commented on the Carabao Cup post-Reading and highlighted how the Rob and Ryan era has been missing a major cup tie.
He said: “I just think, in the last four years, since Rob and Ryan have owned the club, the one bit of magic dust which hasn’t been sprinkled is a big cup tie against a top team.
“The law of averages tells me we must be due one this time.”
There are a plethora of top teams Wrexham can face in the Carabao Cup last-16, including the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
The draw is due to take place at around 10:15pm BST on September 24.
