Wrexham really didn’t cover themselves in glory against Stevenage but one player should take pride in his display.
The Red Dragons have seen their aumtoric promotion hopes take a major hit following a disastrous 3-2 loss to Stevenage.
Wycombe Wanders, despite a change in manager and some key exits, have been allowed to open up a six-point gap over Wrexham in second place.
Huddersfield Town are still four points off them but have a game in hand and right now, it seems like a top-six finish is the best the Welsh outfit can hope for.
Wrexham fans were angry at Phil Parkinson after Stevenage, hitting out at the manager’s tactics that led to their 22-game unbeaten streak at home coming to an end.
As well as Parkinson, Arthur Okonkwo was very poor, allowing a usually weak Stevenage to score twice in 18 minutes.
Matty James was woeful as well and was hooked after just 45 minutes of action in the midweek collapse.

George Dobson was rare positive for Wrexham vs Stevenage
While James was well below his best on Tuesday, one of his midfield counterparts excelled.
George Dobson arrived at the Racecourse Ground on a free transfer from Charlton Athletic over the summer.
The midfielder had an excellent first few months of the campaign but saw his game time reduced somewhat after the arrival of James.
However, the 27-year-old has now started the club’s last two League One fixtures and excelled in both, especially against Stevenage.
Parkinson has hinted Wrexham players could be dropped after Stevenage but Dobson is the only star who should not be fearing for his place this weekend.

George Dobson stats for Wrexham vs Stevenage
Stevenage dominated the Welsh side in the first 45, in part due to the lackluster showing of James in the holding midfield role.
Dobson did his best to combat the weak display of his teammates, however, winning the majority of his duels and working tirelessly across the 90 minutes.
Ollie Rathbone did score (or assist depending on who ends up being credited with the goal) but he was still nowhere Dobson’s level on the night.

Wrexham face Crawley Town on Saturday and another big showing from the Englishman will be needed if his teammates continue to underperform.
