Wrexham were linked to countless players this summer due to their willingness to invest ahead of their Championship campaign as they sought to bring second-tier quality to their squad.
This saw 13 new faces make their way to the Racecourse Ground ahead of the new campaign to bolster the squad for Phil Parkinson, with Wrexham spending £33 million.
Several of the signings have taken to life at the Welsh club like a duck to water, with Kieffer Moore topping the Championship stats in a unique way.
However, Ryan Hardie may be exploring options away from Wrexham in January after a slow start to life at the club after signing in the summer.
While all those involved at the club will hope that he finds his feet soon, they may be pleased that they avoided signing one of their summer targets following the last update regarding his fitness.

Wrexham may have saved themselves a six-figure sum by not signing Danny Ings
Several Championship clubs were chasing the signature of Danny Ings in the summer, including Wrexham, with the striker opting to join Sheffield United.
The former England international signed a one-year contract with the Blades, and things looked promising as he made his debut for the club against Middlesbrough.

However, he has not appeared since then for the side managed by Chris Wilder, and while there had been no explanation previously, it has now been revealed that he suffered a hamstring injury.
Nonetheless, Ings will still get paid, and per Capology, the former Liverpool striker is earning a cool £30,000 a week at Bramall Lane: if he’s out for a month even, he’ll earn £120,000 without kicking a ball, and if he’s out until Christmas, for example, he’ll earn well over £300,000 after playing just 12 minutes of football and more than half a million from when he signed.
Danny Ings’ injury record
Wrexham may feel like they have dodged a bullet in signing Danny Ings due to the financial outlay he could have cost them given his injury record.
The experienced striker missed over 100 games while he was contracted to Liverpool between the seasons of 2015 and 2019.
| Season | Days Missed Through Injury | Games Missed |
| 18/19 | 110 Days | 19 |
| 16/17 | 289 Days | 41 |
| 15/16 | 211 Days | 54 |
Ings may argue that he has gotten over these injury concerns, as demonstrated in his stints with Southampton and West Ham, and that he will be able to consistently perform for Sheffield United.
While he has proven that he is a reliable goalscorer throughout his career, this will once again raise questions about his fitness with Wrexham and their fans potentially believing they were lucky not to sign Ings as they weigh up the pros and cons.
