The big question for Wrexham fans this summer is what the future holds for Paul Mullin.
Wigan Athletic have held interest in Mullin already this summer and after having not played since February, it appears the striker will be on the way out of the Racecourse Ground.
Rob McElhenney convinced Mullin to sign for the club back in 2021 by sharing the lofty ambitions that Wrexham hold, however, the striker is now set to be cut adrift from the final stages of those plans.
Lee Trundle has backed Mullin to make a return to Phil Parkinson’s plans next season and the club would be wise to take their time this summer over making a decision on the 30-year-old.

Wrexham need to give Paul Mullin a pre-season
Mullin has been injured during the last two pre-seasons and despite recovering from both setbacks, it has certainly played a part in his dip in form and fitness.
Wrexham would be wise to allow the 30-year-old the chance to have a full pre-season, give him minutes during the Australia tour and then assess his condition.

It may be that the forward forces his way into Parkinson’s Championship plans and therefore the club have another excellent option to join Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez in attack.
Another scenario is that it may prove Mullin just isn’t up to the level and then the Red Dragons can look for a potential suitor. League One clubs would be queuing up for such a potent goal scorer.
Whether the club could receive a fee for the striker remains to be seen but getting his wages off the books would be seen as a positive in order to free up funds for potential incoming transfers.
What Phil Parkinson has said about Paul Mullin’s Wrexham future
Parkinson wants Mullin to return for pre-season, alongside his teammate Ollie Palmer after the duo both found themselves out of the picture during the second half of last season.
The Wrexham boss stated: “Mulls and Ollie will always be legends at this club for what they’ve done. They’re under contract next year and they’ll be back in pre-season ready to go again.”
The Red Dragons have not rushed into any transfer business yet this summer and have no need to be hasty on any decision over players coming in or out of the club.
Patience is the game when it comes to Mullin, he has the ability to ignite once again but the striker will always hold his value when it comes to interest from elsewhere.
