What happened when Ollie Palmer and Wrexham played Swindon Town in 2023/24 season
Following Wrexham’s promotion from the National League, optimism was at an all-time high in North Wales.
The Red Dragons had notched four points in the first three games of the League Two season, setting them up for a clash with Swindon Town, which proved to be one to remember on the Racecourse Ground turf.
Despite going 2-0 down after 27 minutes, courtesy of goals by Jake Young and former Premier League bagsman Charlie Austin, Jake Bickerstaff halved the deficit before another goal was bagged by the visitors.
By half-time, Wrexham were 4-1 down, but were given a sliver of hope by goals from Elliot Lee and Jordan Jones. Swindon then made it 5-3, but two incredibly late goals by Lee and Jones made it 5-5.
Ollie Palmer started in the contest, but was unable to make a goalscoring contribution to the game.
