Incoming Wrexham signing Josh Windass once did the spectacular that completely changed his career.
Wrexham are closing in on a deal to sign Josh Windass after he departed Sheffield Wednesday only days ago.
The deal to bring Windass to the Racecourse Ground is regarded as a major coup for Phil Parkinson and Wrexham after the former Owls ace bagged 13 goals in the Championship last season, helping the Owls to a top-half finish.
There is no doubt that Windass will fit perfectly into Parkinson’s system as well, with it likely that he would sit behind Ryan Hardie in attack.
If Wrexham’s previous season was to be admired, then Red Dragons fans will be stunned after what he did at the end of the 2022/23 season in what was the ‘biggest game of his life’.

Josh Windass once scored a last-minute winner at Wembley in the ‘biggest game of his life’
During his five-year stint at Sheffield Wednesday, Josh Windass proved to be the most consistent goal threat for the club, when not injured, anyway.
One of Windass’ top seasons at Hillsborough saw him notch 18 goal contributions in the league, but on top of that, he scored the decisive goal to hand Sheffield Wednesday promotion at Wembley Stadium.
The semi-finals saw Sheffield Wednesday do the unthinkable and turn around a four-goal deficit to beat Peterborough United on penalties, and that was followed up by a spectacular Wembley win vs Barnsley.
The game looked set to be decided on penalties until Windass, in the 123rd minute, sent the Sheffield Wednesday faithful into raptures after an incredible bullet header, beating Harry Isted in the Barnsley net.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac will love Josh Windass for one key reason
Following the game, Dean Windass, Josh’s father and the goalscorer in the 2008 Championship play-off final that saw Hull City beat Bristol City at Wembley, spoke, via BBC, about his son’s goal.
“I knew he’d score. He knew it was going to be the biggest game of his life – he didn’t need me telling him that.”
Such a game and a moment consolidated the fact that Windass will fight to the very end, no matter who he plays for. He is an aggressive yet committed player, something that will work well in Phil Parkinson’s set-up.
On top of that, he brings masses of personality to the squad, which, from Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac’s perspective, will be highly entertaining for the next season of WrexhamFX.
Windass has nearly done it all in the EFL in his career, but now he looks to reach his ultimate goal, and that is ‘to play with the very best’ in the Premier League.
