Bailey Cadamarteri transfer latest as Wrexham set miss out on Sheffield Wednesday talent

Wrexham fans are hoping to see a new forward arrive before Friday’s transfer deadline but another potential signing is set to move elsewhere.

Phil Parkinson’s side have enjoyed a strong start to the new League One season.

Home wins over Wycombe Wanderers and Reading have come either side of a battling 0-0 draw at Bolton Wanderers.

Seven points from three games is a strong start for Wrexham and Parkinson should be delighted with the opening weeks of the new campaign.

Promotion hopes should be calmed a little even if Lee Trundle is eyeing the Premier League, and Wrexham may need another attacking addition in order to really push for the top six.

Wrexham striker blow

Paul Mullin is back from injury and will provide Wrexham with a major boost in front of goal.

Wrexham’s goal hero missed all of pre-season though and it may take some time for him to truly get back to his best.

Parkinson has been impressed with Jack Marriott though, praising the Wrexham striker for his work rate and intelligence.

Ollie Palmer, Steven Fletcher, Sam Dalby and Jake Bickerstaff remain in the mix too but Wrexham have been chasing a new striker.

Reports earlier in August suggested that Wrexham had identified Bailey Cadamarteri as a potential signing.

Sheffield Wednesday are keen to loan Cadamarteri out for first-team action but Wrexham now look set to miss out.

The Sheffield Star’s Joe Crann reports that Cadamarteri is now set for a medical with Lincoln City ahead of a loan deal.

Crann notes that Lincoln still need to iron out some issues in the deal but the hope is that Cadamarteri will join the Imps.

Lincoln are a League One rival for Wrexham and sit just one point behind Parkinson’s side after a decent start to the season.

Cadamarteri will now provide an attacking boost for Michael Skubala’s side and will be in contention to face Wrexham at the STōK Cae Ras in October.

Bailey Cadamarteri the latest striker to move elsewhere

Wrexham have been linked with so many strikers of late, but have seen most of them move elsewhere.

Scottish forward Kieran Bowie was on the Wrexham wish list but he has completed a permanent move from Fulham to Hibernian.

Wrexham wanted to sign John McAtee from Luton Town but he has signed for Bolton Wanderers whilst Will Lankshear looks set to stay at Tottenham Hotspur after impressing in pre-season.

Cadamarteri can now join the list of strikers who won’t be joining Wrexham ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.

Perhaps Wrexham will be comfortable moving forward with Mullin now back from injury and Parkinson may go with what he has at his disposal with Dalby and Bickerstaff looking set to stay put as things stand.
