Wrexham could be busy on transfer deadline day as Phil Parkinson continues to chase new additions at the STōK Cae Ras.
Deadline day is here, and Wrexham’s summer of spending is not over.
Wrexham have made 10 signings over the course of the summer, spending more than £20million on new additions.
More spending is coming in the final hours, though, with Wrexham close to signing Ben Sheaf from Coventry City.
The former Arsenal talent will cost around £6.5million, with a medical expected to be completed on deadline day.
Wrexham are also keen on Zak Vyner, but have seen Bristol City reject two bids, worth £1.75million and £2million.

Bristol City fans on Zak Vyner
Bristol City boss Gerhard Struber does not want to lose Vyner, but the defender is out of contract in 2026.
Wrexham will hope to see Bristol City cash in rather than risk losing Vyner for nothing next summer.
Robins fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts on Vyner’s future, with most supporters hoping to see him stay.
Some accept that it will be difficult to keep Vyner out of Wrexham’s clutches, especially if an offer of around £2.5million is on the table.
Vyner’s contract has just one year left to run, and that situation has left some Robins supporters concerned, but they are calling on Bristol City to stand firm.
Some feel that £2million is a ‘joke offer’, especially if Wrexham are coughing up around £6.5million for Sheaf’s signature.
Others suggest that Vyner would be a ‘big loss’ for Bristol City and the club would quickly realise his importance if a deal with Wrexham is agreed.
- Don’t think we can be turning down £2.5m for Vyner when he can leave for nothing next summer. Wrexham will be offering higher wages, I’d suspect too. Probably a sensible move all round. Would still be a shame to see him go.
- Gonna be a struggle to keep hold of Zak Vyner
- Don’t want to lose Vyner and certainly not for 2m, which is a joke offer from Wrexham, seeing they’ve just bought Sheaf for £6.5m. Bristol City need to play hardball
- If we sell Vyner, we will quickly realise how important he is…
- Vyner is worth 5m, a very established championship defender. Wrexham are paying over the odds for players; therefore, Vyner is worth £8m
- Zak Vyner – one of the club’s top earners. OOC next summer and can demand more / get a signing fee somewhere if he doesn’t sign. Club’s hands are tied and may well have to cash in, especially to generate funds for incomings. Personally, would be gutted to lose him.
- Vyner would be a big loss. City through and through, played every minute last season and just a steady, reliable force in the side. Hard to replace and would be a mistake to let go.
- For me, a player that is keep at all costs when it comes to contract time. It seems like it would be very hard to replace his minutes and turn a profit. He never lets us down, he’s got another 5 years minimum at this level. An asset worth protecting.
- No way I’d let him go unless it’s for crazy money.

Wrexham running out of time on Zak Vyner
Reports suggest that Wrexham will now offer £2.5million for Vyner, in the hope of wrapping up a late deal.
Bristol City have stood firm so far, but a deal is becoming more and more tempting as Wrexham up the ante.
Vyner is now 28 and could leave Bristol City for absolutely nothing in less than a year.
Vyner’s strong connection to Bristol City could come into play, given that he came up through the club’s youth ranks, but the Wrexham project has proven to be appealing for many players.
Wrexham only have a few more hours to wrap up a deal here, and Bristol City’s asking price may well increase as the deadline draws closer.
