Wrexham have now made two bids for Bristol City defender Zak Vyner, but the Robins have not backed down over his future.
Wrexham are close to making signing number 11 as transfer deadline day looms.
Coventry City captain Ben Sheaf is set to join Wrexham in a £6.5million move, with a deadline-day medical expected.
Phil Parkinson has landed 10 signings this summer, but Wrexham are still chasing further additions.
Sheffield United’s Jack Robinson remains on Wrexham’s radar, but another right-footer is also on Parkinson’s wish list.
Wrexham want to sign Zak Vyner, but Bristol City have now rejected two bids for the defender ahead of the transfer deadline.

Bristol City boss on Wrexham target Zak Vyner
Wrexham’s first bid for Vyner was worth £1.75million, with the Robins swiftly booting out that offer.
The offer was increased to £2million, but Bristol City again rejected the bid as they view Vyner as an integral part of their plans.
Vyner has started every game for the Robins this season and featured in their win over Hull City on Saturday.
Wrexham are hoping to tempt the Robins into a deal, especially as Vyner is out of contract next summer.
Robins boss Gerhard Struber has now told Bristol Live that he is not surprised by any level of interest in Vyner’s signature.
Struber noted that Vyner is a ‘very important’ player and losing him before the deadline would ‘do big damage’ to Bristol City.
The Austrian accepts that Vyner’s contract situation makes life tricky, but he is hoping that ‘nothing’ happens around the Wrexham target.
“I think that Zak Vyner has offers from different clubs, it’s not a surprise for me. He is, in the end, a very important player, and we can see it in every game, how important is he for the club, for the team,” said Struber.
“He is a Bristol City player, he grew here, so he is the face of the club, and we know what we have with him, but for Zak Vyner, I think he is very happy here. He is very, very happy here, and he enjoyed the time here, but I’m absolutely not surprised that other clubs have a lot of interest in him and maybe also in the one or other player.
“He’s super important for the here and now, and if we were to lose him, I think this would do big damage for us. I think to lose a player on this level, so close before the transfer window closes, I think this would be damaging, but this is not a big discussion between us and the management.
“I hope that nothing happens in this direction in the next few days. I have a very good connection with Zak, and I hope he also realises what he has on us, on the club. I am not a dreamer. We know the contract situation, we know this and everything, but I hope he will stay and nothing will happen,” he added.
Wrexham looking to pounce late on expiring contracts
Vyner would be a major addition to Wrexham’s back line, bringing considerable Championship experience after more than 200 second-tier games for Bristol City.
The 28-year-old is just one of a number of Wrexham transfer targets, but they all share one thing in common – their contract situations.
Wrexham are keen on Kenny McLean, with the Norwich captain also out of contract in 2026.
Robinson, Sheaf, Vyner and McLean can all leave their current clubs for free in less than a year, and this approach does not appear to be a coincidence.
With just hours left in the summer transfer window, Wrexham may believe that clubs will be willing to cash in now.
The values of these players will diminish come January, and Wrexham will hope to tempt some of their Championship rivals to sell in the coming hours.
