Wrexham have been handed a boost in pursuit of one of their summer transfer targets.
The 2025 summer transfer window will reopen for clubs on June 16, with Wrexham still waiting to make their first signing.
The brief break in the window, which began on June 10, has led to a fairly quiet week on the transfer front.
Christian Eriksen has commented on rumours while away on international duty amid links to Wrexham.
But there was little transfer news regarding the Red Dragons up until this weekend, with a long-time target now given permission to seal a summer transfer.

Leeds United will let Joe Gelhardt leave as Wrexham linked again
The Welsh side landed Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez in the winter window to improve their striker ranks.
Before said duo arrived on January 31, however, Wrexham eyed Leeds United’s Joe Gelhardt.
The forward did not move to the Racecourse, instead opting to join Championship side Hull City on loan for the remainder of 2024/25.
Gelhardt has since returned to Leeds, who have won promotion to the Premier League ahead of 2025/26.
Now, EFL Analysis are reporting that the Whites have told the 23-year-old he can leave Elland Road this summer.
Wrexham are said to be interested in Gelhardt, with a loan move for the attacker likely, while Birmingham City and a number of other Championship clubs are reported to be keen on his services.

Joe Gelhardt Championship record
The Englishman saw very little game time in the Championship for Leeds in the first half of last season.
He played just nine minutes of football across two outings and did not score.
Prior to 2024/25, he had made 47 appearances in the second tier, in which he scored four and assisted three.
However, Gelhardt was praised by Hull fans during his loan spell, where he scored five in 20 league matches for a Tigers side who just about avoided relegation.
If Wrexham were to try and seal a permanent transfer, it’s believed that Leeds want £3m to sell Gelhardt this summer.
