Wrexham have now agreed a deal for another signing on transfer deadline day.

When Monday got underway, the Red Dragons had spent around £23.6m on 10 new players this summer.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac’s club are showing no signs of slowing down when it comes to new additions, however.

Ben Sheaf has signed for Wrexham in a £6.5m deal from Championship rivals Coventry City on September 1.

Wrexham are set to sign Issa Kabore on loan from Man City from the 2025/26 season as well.

Elsewhere, a deal has now been agreed for a third deadline day addition.

Wrexham agree deal for Dom Hyam

As well as a new midfielder and wing-back, Wrexham have been trying to add another centre-back to their ranks.

On that front, the Welsh side were trying to sign Zak Vyner from Bristol City.

However, it emerged that The Robins won’t be selling Vyner on deadline day, seeing the Dragons change their target.

It was revealed on Monday afternoon that Wrexham were eyeing Dom Hyam of Blackburn Rovers.

Now, Rich Fay and Nathan Salt of the Rob Ryan Red podcast report that a deal has been agreed for the centre-back.

They wrote: “Deal AGREED with Blackburn Rovers for Dom Hyam. £2.7m deal struck.”

Dom Hyam Blackburn Rovers stats

The 29-year-old signed for Rovers from Coventry City in 2022 for a fee somewhere around £1.5m.

He has been a mainstay in their backline since and has previously played 67 games with new signing Sheaf when the duo were both on the Sky Blues’ books.

In total, Hyam has featured on 192 occasions for Coventry, scoring nine goals and assisting one.

A right-footed defender, he will likely come in as competition for Max Cleworth and Conor Coady in Parkinson’s back-three.
