Wrexham fans just can’t agree as their club plots a move for a £2m midfielder this summer.

The transfer links are coming thick and fast at the Racecourse Ground this week.

Christian Eriksen is wanted by Phil Parkinson, it has been suggested.

But the Dane, who has commented on transfer interest amid Wrexham links this week, is one of several midfield stars tipped to make the move to Wales.

Tommy Doyle is a target for the Red Dragons, who face competition from Championship and Premier League sides for his signature.

Meanwhile, we first reported back in April that Wrexham could move for Charlie Savage of Reading.

We then learned in May that the club have a genuine interest in signing Savage and Tom Lawrence this summer.

Wrexham fans split over Charlie Savage transfer

Now, fresh Savage links, with the caveat of a £2m price-tag, have emerged recently

However, Wrexham fans have been left very split by the prospect of signing the Reading ace and have taken to social media to make their feelings clear.

One fan responding to interest in Charlie Savage simply wrote: “He’s not good,” while Fearless in Devotion tweeted: “Bring him home.”

The mixed reaction continued with another writing: “No thanks….”

Another Red Dragons fan replied: “Please God NOOOOO!”

A fifth passionately stated: “No thanks, he’s —–, runs around like his dad, headless chicken, nearly did Brunt some serious damage at Reading with his 10-minute late assault, should have been sent off. We need footballers.”

On a more positive note, one fan responded: “Absolutely bossed the game last time he played at the Cae Ras @Cymru Vs Gibraltar,” while another simply wrote: “Yes!!!!!”

Charlie Savage stats for Reading

It has been an interesting reaction from Wrexham fans to Savage, who has just enjoyed a prolific season with the Royals.

Ollie Rathbone was Wrexham’s highest-scoring midfielder in 2024/25, while George Dobson earned the most assists in the league.

Savage scored fewer League One goals (5) than both Rathbone and Elliot Lee, the latter of whom did play up front for half the campaign.

But the 22-year-old’s assist return (9) was better than every Wrexham midfielder and tied with Ryan Barnett, who got the most of every Dragons star in the third tier last term.
