Wrexham allowed a number of players to leave the club at the end of last season, and one talent has found himself a new club.

Phil Parkinson is preparing for life in the Championship, and Wrexham have been handed a tough task on the opening day.

Wrexham head to face Southampton on the opening weekend of the season, highlighting the challenge ahead in the Championship.

Parkinson is weighing up new arrivals to his Wrexham squad, but only after allowing several players to leave.

Steven Fletcher has left Wrexham, while Mark Howard and Jordan Davies depart as two popular characters from the Wrexham rise.

Parkinson also allowed some younger fringe players to leave the club, with goalkeeper Liam Hall and Brad Foster let go.

Harry Dean finds new club after Wrexham exit

Harry Dean was another player Wrexham let go at the end of his contract.

The 19-year-old defender penned a first professional contract with Wrexham in 2024.

Phil Parkinson praised Dean upon signing that deal, with the teenager no doubt dreaming of becoming a first-team regular like Max Cleworth.

Dean was a regular in the Central League this past season, but he failed to make the breakthrough at first-team level.

Wrexham released Dean at the end of last season, and the defender has now found a new club.

Bala Town have confirmed Dean’s arrival, meaning he will be playing Cymru Premier football this coming season.

This will be a great test for Dean at this stage in his development, and he is relishing a ‘fantastic opportunity’ to kick on and prove himself away from Wrexham.

“I’m buzzing to be joining Bala,” said Dean on Bala Town’s official website.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for me at a club that’s always pushing for the top of the league. I have watched them several times last season and know a few of the coaches at the club, so it will be like being at home. I can’t wait to get started working hard to help the team,” he added.

Bala Town boss hails Harry Dean

Boss Steve Fisher is certainly excited and raved about Dean after completing his signature.

Fisher hailed Dean as a ‘really exciting’ player with ‘bags of potential’, believing that he can make an impact right now as well as in the future.

Fisher also praised Dean’s attitude alongside his ability, seemingly confident that he has secured an impressive signing.

“Harry is a really exciting young player with bags of potential. We’re building for the future as well as the present — and bringing in someone of Harry’s ability and attitude is a great step forward for us. I’m looking forward to seeing him develop with us this season,” said Fisher.

Wrexham fans will keep tabs on Dean from afar, with the defender now flying the flag for the Wrexham academy in the top flight of Welsh football.
