Wrexham are targeting a double striker swoop to add further firepower to Phil Parkinson’s attacking options.

Wrexham have agreed a fee for Nathan Broadhead from Ipswich Town in a deal which could see the forward return to North Wales after leaving the young set up back in 2008.

Kieffer Moore is also on Wrexham’s radar and the Red Dragons are prepared to increase his wages to lure him from Sheffield United.

It would be two more statement signings from the Championship new boys and Broadhead and Moore already have some history at the Racecourse Ground.

Nathan Broadhead and Kieffer scored for Wales in the same game at the Racecourse Ground

Phil Parkinson will be keen for both strikers to hit the ground running at Wrexham should deals be completed for both Broadhead and Moore.

However, the Red Dragons boss will be pleased to learn that both players are already accustomed to scoring at the club’s historic home ground.

Both players were on target during Wales 4-0 win over Gibraltar in an international friendly clash back in October 2023.

Moore produced a trademark header into the far post and Broadhead twisted and turned inside the box to fire the ball into the top corner.

Quality finishes from the Welsh duo and Wrexham supporters will be licking their lips at the prospect of seeing that in action on a regular basis next season.

Phil Parkinson now has to sell some Wrexham strikers

Parkinson can only name a 25-man squad for the Championship this season and should Broadhead and Moore arrive at the club, it would take the total number of forwards at the club up to eight.

Wrexham have become ‘obsessed’ with strikers according to EFL expert Ryan Dilks and the squad still needs improvements in other areas – most notably central defence.

That list is without new signing Josh Windass, who many are expecting to play in an attacking midfield role and young star Harry Ashfield.

Ashfield impressed Wrexham fans during the club’s pre-season tour down under but will now very likely be looking at a loan move away this summer.

Departures of Ollie Palmer and Modou Faal are going to be inevitable, but even the likes of Jay Rodriguez and Jack Marriott will now be questioning their future at the club.
