Paul Mullin left Wrexham on loan for Wigan Athletic this summer, and experts have now shared their verdicts on the striker following pre-season.
Wrexham’s 2025/26 campaign does not get underway for another week when they will face Southampton.
However, League One and League Two kick off this weekend, with Paul Mullin likely to make his first competitive appearance for many months.
Wrexham axed Mullin in the second half of 2024/25, but rather than selling him this summer, he has been loaned to Wigan Athletic.
The 30-year-old has been featuring regularly in pre-season under Ryan Lowe, and the Wrexham loanee scored his first goal since leaving the Red Dragons in a private friendly fixture.
Now, Latics experts have given their thoughts on the Wrexham loanee.

Wigan Athletic experts give Paul Mullin verdict
After being dropped by Phil Parkinson, Mullin has now started every pre-season game for Wigan this summer.
In the official pre-season friendlies that fans were able to attend, he remains without a goal for his new club.
Now, Wigan Today have spoken to several ‘Latics experts’ ahead of their 2025/26 season, two of whom have shared their thoughts on Mullin.
Billy H said: “Paul Mullin was a strange one, as the game seemed to pass him by, but hopefully he can grow into the team and give us some goals that we sadly lacked last season.”
Martin Lally stated: “I’m on the fence with Paul Mullin. It’s been hard not to observe Wrexham’s rise, but a loan is always a worry when the parent club is a league higher, as we could just become the development area.
“And let’s be honest, if he’s banged 15 goals by Christmas and gets recalled (if only to be sold elsewhere), the timeline will melt down in 0.01 seconds.”

How to watch Paul Mullin play for Wigan Athletic vs Northampton Town
Wigan’s 2025/26 season will kick off on Saturday, August 2, against Northampton Town.
The match will start at 3pm BST and is available to watch live on Sky Sports+.
A supercomputer has predicted how Mullin and Wigan will fare in 2025/26 as they look to secure promotion from League One.
But they are expected to come up short on that front, with an old Wrexham rival instead backed to excel in the coming year.
