Wrexham completed two signings on Friday but Phil Parkinson may not be done in the transfer window just yet.

Transfer deadline day has arrived and Wrexham fans saw two signings arrive last year.

Luke Bolton and Jack Marriott arrived in the final hours of the window this time a year ago as Phil Parkinson bolstered his squad.

Whether this January transfer deadline is quite as busy remains to be seen.

Wrexham signed Sam Smith from Reading on Friday before adding Jay Rodriguez from Burnley too.

Add in Ryan Longman joining Wrexham earlier in January and it’s unclear whether a fourth signing will be made on deadline day.

Phil Parkinson on Wrexham transfer plans

Wrexham may well see a prominent player leave on deadline day; Ollie Palmer is attracting interest after Wrexham landed two strikers on Friday.

The target man may well move on and Parkinson hasn’t ruled out more signings arriving.

Speaking to BBC Sport after Saturday’s win over Crawley Town, Parkinson suggested that Wrexham will have a ‘good chat’ about the deadline day plans.

Parkinson noted that Shaun Harvey is in town and Wrexham are ‘assessing’ the market for potential additions.

Parkinson added ‘you never say never’ despite a ‘very hectic’ period of activity for Wrexham, leaving the door open for more deals.

“We’re going to have a good chat because we’ve had a very hectic few days,” said Parkinson.

“Shaun Harvey is with us and we’ll decide where we go in the next few days. At the moment, we’re just assessing a few things. You never say never but this week has been a good week for us in the transfer market, and it’ll give all of the lads a lift.”

The window slams shut at 11pm UK time, so Wrexham will need to be quick if any deals are going to materialise.

Where else could Wrexham strengthen?

Wrexham came into the window wanting a striker and ended up with two as Smith and Rodriguez arrived.

Bolton’s lack of impact – whether through form or injuries – meant Parkinson moved for another wide man in Longman too.

Wrexham’s squad now looks strong but we would still love to see another creative midfield player arrive.

Parkinson has hinted at Bolton and Will Boyle moving on and another centre back may still be on the radar if the latter goes.

Wrexham explored signing Thimothee Lo-Tutala earlier this season but we can’t see another goalkeeper arriving now.

Brad Foster has signed a new contract and Wrexham have recalled Luke McNicholas from Rochdale.

Outgoings may be more prominent than incomings for Wrexham on deadline day, but Parkinson will be plugged in for any potential opportunities to strengthen.
