An update on Wrexham’s plans for the 2025 January transfer window has now emerged.
The Red Dragons began January third in League One and are now level on points with second-place Wycombe Wanderers with the same games played following Matt Bloomfield’s side losing to Huddersfield Town this week.
The promotion race is still very tight, however, with Wrexham rivals Huddersfield expected to strengthen in January.
Fans of the Welsh outfit will be hoping their club are going to do the same, but no deals have been forthcoming at this stage.
Phil Parkinson’s usual transfer strategy does suggest the club will be more active as the winter window nears it’s conclusion, however.
And now, an update on Wrexham’s plans this month has emerged and it’s pretty mixed.

Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds could sanction two Wrexham transfers
The Hollywood-owned club do have a fairly well-stocked squad already but improvements may be needed in a couple of areas.
Paul Mullin could solve one Wrexham problem by changing position but midfield reinforcements to rival Elliot Lee should still be looked at.
Elsewhere, the club have already been linked with a plethora of striker targets, with The Wrexham Insider learning of interest in both Ethan Wheatley and Joe Geldhardt.
Now, a report from ESPN has shed some light on the Red Dragons’ plans, stating that ‘Wrexham are in the market for a striker or two’.
Given Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer have only scored five goals between them this season, two centre-forwards arriving at the Racecourse Ground does make sense.

Patrick Bamford to Wrexham update
Among the names linked in the last month or so is Leeds United forward, Patrick Bamford.
Wrexham’s interest in Bamford emerged in December and his signing would have been a real statement of intent from Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.
However, the Leeds ace has suffered an injury this week, which already put any potential transfer in doubt.
And now, ESPN are claiming reports linking the striker to Wales are ‘wide of the mark’.
There are still plenty of other names the club could sign, however, with Ryan Hardie among Wrexham’s targets this month.
