Wrexham are now expected to spend in the 2025 winter window and should return for a summer target.
Wrexham made nine new additions to their first-team squad during the 2024 summer transfer window.
Most of those players have fared well but the Red Dragons are now expected to strengthen even further in January.
Wrexham want to sign a striker in the upcoming window in a bid to aid their promotion push.
Phil Parkinson has been offered at least 12 centre-forwards already, with it seemingly all but certain a new number nine will arrive at the Racecourse Ground in the near future.
However, while a striker is a priority for the club, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney now have a great chance to sign a summer target for a reduced fee in January.

Wrexham were linked with a host of different players across the 2024 summer window, including Hull City winger Ryan Longman.
Previously, the Wrexham target was valued in excess of £1.5m, with the Tigers turning down that figure for him in the past.
However, after returning to Yorkshire following a loan spell with Millwall, Longman has struggled to integrate himself back into the Hull eleven.
The 24-year-old’s campaign has been hampered by injury issues but even now he is back fit, it is hard to see him garnering too many minutes going forward.
And with the wide-man out of contract in 2025, the January window presents a perfect chance for Longman to move elsewhere in order to play more regular minutes
It would also allow Hull to get some form of transfer fee for him, rather than losing him for free in the summer.
However, his contract situation does mean he will likely have to be sold for much less than the £1.5m Hull previously turned down for him, and Reynolds and McElhenney should now swoop in to secure a cut-price move.

What Ryan Longman would bring to Wrexham
Longman is an experienced Championship player with over 100 appearances in the competition.
And with Wrexham having promotion aspirations in 2024/25, it makes sense for them to start targeting players already capable of playing at a higher level.
The most appealing thing about a potential move for Longman, however, is his versatility.
The Englishman is a natural left-winger but is incredibly versatile, meaning he could provide cover for Wrexham in both wing-back positions and even at centre-forward.
