As Wrexham look to sign Issa Kabore from Man City, Phil Parkinson will be delighted with what Pep Guardiola has previously said about the defender.
Wrexham have undergone an incredibly busy summer transfer window, having brought in many players to help them compete in the Championship following three successive promotions, taking them from the National League.
The Red Dragons are showing no sign of slowing down in their recruitment, with two deals in the pipeline as things stand.
Wrexham are set to sign Ben Sheaf from Coventry City, while the Red Dragons are also expected to bring in Issa Kabore on loan from Man City.
Kabore will arrive with no option to buy for Wrexham, as it is clear that Pep Guardiola would still like to hold the cards on the defender’s future after what he previously said about him.

What Pep Guardiola has previously said about Issa Kabore ahead of Wrexham move
Wrexham supporters have every reason to be optimistic ahead of the loan move for Issa Kabore, predominantly for the experience that he possesses in both European and Premier League football.
As well as the statistics, which reinforce it being a phenomenal signing for Wrexham in the final knockings of the summer transfer window, they also have Pep Guardiola’s word to go against, who has been full of praise for the Man City man.
Ahead of the 2024/25 season, Man City boss Guardiola was left with a predicament over whether to loan out Kabore, which he opted for in the end. However, during the uncertainty, he provided a brilliant compliment to him, having said, via Manchester World: “He trained really good and he helps with the positions that we need it.”

Issa Kabore stats
While Issa Kabore has been unable to notch any game time for Man City, he has shone elsewhere in his career.
A Premier League loan move to Luton Town is a notable highlight for Kabore, having played 24 top-flight appearances in the 2023/24 season.
Elsewhere, Kabore found himself at both Benfica and Werder Bremen in the 2024/25 season. Both spells resulted in a lack of game time, but still would have set him up for success at Wrexham, with that experience abroad being incredibly valuable.
