Wrexham have been linked with a plethora of players over the winter, one of which has now secured a transfer.
Wrexham have exceeded expectations in League One this season following back-to-back promotions in the previous two campaigns.
With over half the season gone, the Red Dragons are still firmly in contention to end 2024/25 in one of the automatic promotion places.
However, their form has been patchy over the last month or so with it clear more firepower at the top end of the pitch is needed.
Wrexham want to sign a striker and we revealed back in November that Ethan Wheatley was a transfer target for the Welsh outfit.
Wheatley has excelled at youth level for Manchester United, scoring seven in 15 for the Red Devils’ in various competitions this term.

However, despite interest from Phil Parkinson’s side and Stockport County, the 19-year-old has instead been sent to League Two.
The striker joined Walsall on loan for the remainder of the current season on January 25th.
Wheatley then made his first appearance for his new club on January 28th versus Fleetwood Town.
The teenager started the clash up front alongside former Middlesbrough ace, Albert Adomah.
Walsall lost the meeting 2-0 and the Manchester United youngster didn’t do much of note during his time of the pitch.

Wrexham striker update
It’s only very early days and a player shouldn’t be judged off one game but Wrexham missing out on Wheatley doesn’t seem to be too big a blow based on his outing against Fleetwood.
However, it remains clear the Welsh outfit are still in desperate need of a new centre-forward arriving before deadline day on February 3rd.
Sam Smith has been linked to Wrexham this week but the 11-goal player may be hard to land thanks to Reading’s transfer embargo.
Outside of Smith, however, the Hollywood-owned club doesn’t seem close to landing anybody else this month.
