Wrexham appear to be in the market for defensive reinforcements this summer as Phil Parkinson prepares for Championship life.
June is now just days away and Wrexham’s transfer activity is surely about to explode.
Phil Parkinson is exploring loan moves for Wrexham, but we would also expect significant permanent additions.
Wrexham are ready to splash the cash according to recent reports, with Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds ready to fund major additions.
Aaron Cresswell has been linked with Wrexham and would surely be viewed as a left-sided centre-back rather than as a wing-back.
The defensive rumours don’t end there, though, as Wrexham also fancy Maksym Talovierov following Plymouth Argyle’s relegation to League One.

Harry Darling decision imminent amid Wrexham interest
Wrexham were linked with Harry Darling earlier in May, with the Swansea City defender out of contract this summer.
Darling has proven himself as a quality Championship defender and would represent a huge capture for Wrexham’s backline.
Swansea still hope to keep Darling, whilst Birmingham City are also understood to be interested in the defender.
Darling has much to think about as he plots a potential Swansea exit – and a decision may now be around the corner.
Wales Online claim that Darling is now ‘close’ to deciding his future, with Swansea offering him improved terms.
Swansea understand that Darling is fielding other offers, though, and their confidence in him staying has ‘waned’ of late.
Darling’s decision is thought to be ‘imminent’, meaning Wrexham will soon find out whether the centre back is trading South Wales for North Wales.
Harry Darling could reunite with Sam Smith at Wrexham
Darling played with Paul Mullin at Cambridge United, before heading to Milton Keynes Dons and then Swansea City.
Darling also featured with Sam Smith during his time at Cambridge, playing 22 games together during the 2019-20 season.
The pair won just six of those games together but would be looking to win many more if they reunite at Wrexham.
Smith joined Wrexham from Reading in January and helped secure promotion with a number of crucial goals.
If Darling called Smith for his view on Wrexham, the striker would surely urge him to make the move to the STōK Cae Ras and join this incredible journey.
Darling will want his future settled well in advance of pre-season training beginning, and Wrexham will hope for a positive answer in the coming days.
