Wrexham are in the market for reinforcements during the 2025 January transfer window.

The Red Dragons are well-placed to secure a third-straight promotion in the current campaign but further signings could still be made to boost their chances of doing so.

Number nines look to be the priority, with The Wrexham Insider revealing late in 2024 that Manchester United gem Ethan Wheatley is of interest.

We also learned that Leeds United striker Joe Gelhardt is being looked at by the Red Dragons alongside Patrick Bamford.

More recently, a couple of Championship forwards have been tipped to make a move to the Racecourse Ground.

But Wrexham fans aren’t pleased with one transfer link owing to the player’s lack of goals in 2024/25.

Dylan Levitt wants to join Wrexham

While strikers are largely being linked, it appears as though a midfielder now wants a move to Wales.

Dylan Levitt is currently plying his trade in the Scottish Premier League with Hibernian, whom he joined from Dundee United in August 2023.

The former Manchester United man hasn’t had a great 2024/25 so far, only notching 181 minutes of league action across six appearances.

Now, speaking on the Rob. Ryan. Red podcast his week, journalist Nathan Salt has revealed that Levitt is now keen to join Wrexham, with a loan move touted.

He said: “I’m led to believe that Dylan Levitt who is at Hibernian currently, is keen to get to Wrexham if a deal could be done. You’re probably looking at more of a loan deal.”

Dylan Levitt not what Wrexham need right now

At present, Wrexham’s midfield department is pretty well stocked, especially with George Evans and James Jones returning from injury.

The one issue in that area is that they don’t really have any natural backup for Elliot Lee.

However, when speaking to Salt on their podcast, fellow journalist Rich Fay questioned if Wrexham actually need him as he’s more of a deep-lying playmaker, rather than a 10.

He said: “Dylan Levitt is more of a deep-lying playmaker. He’s very good on the ball, technically brilliant. Superb at Dundee United during a loan spell there, they then bought him at the end of the campaign from Manchester United. He’s gone to Hibs since and it’s not worked out.

“Really, really good player. Lots of listeners will know him from his performances at Wales.

“I’m not sure he’s the type of midfielder we need right now. If we need a midfielder I still think we need that number 10.”
