As was expected, the 2025 summer transfer window has been an incredibly busy one for Wrexham.
Following record back-to-back-to-back promotions, Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds have given Phil Parkinson a huge transfer war chest to continue Wrexham’s ascent up the leagues – hoping to achieve the dream of Premier League football at the Racecourse Ground.
Heading into deadline day of the transfer window Wrexham had already made ten signings, including smashing their transfer record to sign Nathan Broadhead from Ipswich Town for an initial £7.5m.
And business continued on deadline day too, with Issa Kabore set to join on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

Here’s everything Wrexham fans need to know about the 24-year-old.
When was Issa Kabore born?
Kabore was born on 21st May 2001, and is 24 years old. The wing-back hails from Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso and is an experienced international footballer despite his young age – playing 49 times and scoring two goals for his national team.
The wing-back was also named Best Young Player while on 2021 Africa Cup of Nations duty for Burkina Faso, helping his nation to a semi-final berth.
Height
Issa Kabore’s height is 1.8m (5 ft 11 in).

Issa Kabore’s Man City career
Despite being on the books at Manchester City since 2020, Kabore is yet to make a single competitive appearance for the club. That has been in large part due to the volume of loan spells he’s enjoyed since signing for City.
| Loan Club | No. of Appearances |
| Mechelen | 29 |
| Troyes | 32 |
| Marseille | 29 |
| Luton Town | 26 |
| Benfica | 7 |
| Werder Bremen | 9 |
In total, Kabore has played for a whopping six different clubs since 2020, including spells in Belgium, France, Germany and Portugal.
Wrexham fans will be pleased that Kabore does have some experience in English football too, having featured 26 times in all competitions with Luton Town during their sole season in the Premier League during the 2023/24 campaign.
Where Issa Kabore fits in at Wrexham
Kabore is naturally a right wing-back and will, therefore, fit seamlessly into Phil Parkinson‘s tactical set-up.
The 24-year-old is set to provide some competition for places out on that flank, challenging both Ryan Longman and Ryan Barnett for minutes.
Longman has started two of Wrexham’s three Championship games thus far this season, performing well in the win over Millwall on the 30th August, and is the first-choice right now, but expect Kabore to put serious pressure on the Hull City man in the near future.
Issa Kabore to Wrexham transfer latest
Although there was interest from the likes of Southampton during the 2025 summer transfer window, it’s Wrexham who have won the race to sign Kabore, with a deal set to be finalised on deadline day.
The wing-back will join on a season-long loan, with no option to buy once the loan expires in June 2026.
