Wrexham are still looking for a first Championship win after squandering a 2-0 lead at home to Sheffield Wednesday.
The Championship was always going to be a major step up in quality for Wrexham, and Phil Parkinson is certainly learning that now.
Wrexham lost to Southampton and West Bromwich Albion in the first two league games of the season, before hosting Sheffield Wednesday at the STōK Cae Ras.
Kieffer Moore’s first-half brace had Wrexham cruising against Wednesday, who have been struggling on and off the pitch in recent months.
The Owls refused to lie down, though, and saw Barry Bannan and Bailey Cadamarteri pounce with second-half goals to salvage a 2-2 draw.
Parkinson has been strongly questioned over Wrexham’s second-half display and his lack of substitutes, especially in midfield and at wing-back.

Wrexham ready to push for Jordan James deal
Parkinson’s attention will turn to the midweek Carabao Cup clash against Preston North End, but he will also weigh up more signings in the transfer market.
Wrexham have brought in 10 new signings, but Parkinson may push for more additions after Saturday’s disappointing draw.
The Sun now claim that Wrexham are ready to outbid the competition in the race for Rennes midfielder Jordan James.
Reports from France in midweek suggested that Wrexham were in talks to sign James in a £4.3million move.
The Welsh international was sold by Birmingham City last summer and could now join the Wrexham journey.
It’s now suggested that Rennes simply want to sell to the highest bidder, with Ipswich Town and Italian side Parma also interested.
The report claims that Wrexham are ‘in the mood’ to see off the competition and pay up for the midfielder’s signature.
Reports after promotion suggested that Wrexham would rival Ipswich, Southampton and Leicester City for new signings over the summer.
James may now emerge as proof of that idea, with Wrexham ready to continue spending in an attempt to build a quality Championship side.
Midfield appears to be Wrexham’s next top priority
Wrexham snapped up defender Callum Doyle on Thursday, bringing in the England Under-21 international from Manchester City.
Reports now suggest that Wrexham are targeting three midfielders – James, West Ham United’s Andy Irving and Southampton’s Will Smallbone.
It’s unrealistic to expect all three to arrive – especially with Wrexham’s squad already bloated – and it may be a case of just one arriving, or two at most.
Summer signing George Thomason is still out injured, while Ollie Rathbone and Andy Cannon remain on the sidelines.
Elliot Lee and Harry Ashfield were only on the bench against Wednesday and didn’t even come on despite tired legs in the Wrexham engine room.
Parkinson seemingly doesn’t feel comfortable with his options right now, and investment in midfield could arrive in the coming days, whether it’s James or one of Wrexham’s other targets.
