Wrexham confirmed the signing of Liberato Cacace on Friday night, and another seven-figure signing now appears to be imminent.
Wrexham’s tour of Australia and New Zealand featured just two new signings.
Danny Ward and Ryan Hardie both featured Down Under, but Phil Parkinson has been busy working on further additions.
Wrexham have now snapped up Liberato Cacace, landing the New Zealand international in a club-record move from Empoli.
Cacace will not be the end of Wrexham’s spending, though, and one more signing now appears to be imminent ahead of the Championship season.

Wrexham set to sign Bolton Wanderers ace George Thomason
Reports on Thursday suggested that Wrexham were moving to sign George Thomason from Bolton Wanderers.
A £1.2million bid was expected, with Wrexham attempting to snap Thomason up amid interest from Huddersfield Town.
Thomason was not part of Bolton’s squad to face Hibernian on Saturday, and a move to the STōK Cae Ras is now imminent.
Speaking to The Bolton News, Bolton boss Steven Schumacher admitted that a bid has been accepted for Thomason.
Schumacher stopped short of naming the club involved, but it’s clear that Thomason’s destination will be Wrexham.
“Obviously, George isn’t in the squad,” said Schumacher. “We have accepted a bid from a club last week, and he’s gone this weekend to do his medical there. I don’t want to name clubs and all that because it’s not confirmed yet.
“But that’s why George wasn’t here, obviously. We’ll probably touch on that in a bit more detail next week,” he added.
One hold-up stated in George Thomason pursuit
The Bolton News claim that Thomason was due to undergo a medical with Wrexham on Saturday and has already agreed personal terms.
The deal is all but done, with just one hold-up reported.
It’s claimed that Wrexham’s media staff are away in New Zealand right now, meaning confirmation could be delayed.
However, we saw shots of Cacace inside the STōK Cae Ras upon his arrival, so perhaps Wrexham will still be able to confirm Thomason shortly and have plenty of photos of him wearing the famous red shirt.
The 24-year-old midfielder has enjoyed quite the rise, having played non-league football with Longridge Town after being released by Blackpool in 2018.
Now set for Championship action for the first time in his career, Thomason looks set to quickly follow Cacace as Wrexham’s latest seven-figure addition.
