Wrexham had a very productive winter transfer window but are already seemingly making plans for the summer.

Wrexham signed three players during the 2025 January transfer window, two of which were centre-forwards.

Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez arrived to take Phil Parkinson’s striker tally up to a staggering seven for the remainder of the campaign.

Ryang Longman joined from Hull City as well and already has three assists to his name as a Red Dragons player.

Wrexham broke their transfer record for Smith and splashed out around £500,000 for the addition of Longman.

But though the window has only been closed for just over a week, Parkinson and co. now look to be eyeing fresh reinforcements for the summer.

Wrexham looking at striker who is outscoring Paul Mullin

As they already have seven centre-forwards on their books, some fans may be surprised to see another number nine being linked.

However, given the age and form of some of their players such as Steven Fletcher, Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer, a new striker or two arriving in the summer seems wise.

Now, an emerging talent has been linked with Wrexham this week by journalist Pete O’Rourke.

He wrote on X/Twitter: “A host of EFL clubs are tracking in-form Luton loanee Oliver Lynch following his impressive form on loan at Hemel Hempstead. The likes of Sheffield United, Stoke, West Brom, Wrexham and Stockport are all monitoring Lynch.”

What Wrexham fans need to know about Oliver Lynch

Oliver Lynch is a product of Luton Town’s academy and recently joined National League side Hemel Hempstead on loan.

The 19-year-old has only featured five times since his January transfer but has managed to find the back of the net four times in 431 minutes of football.

In comparison, Mullin and Palmer only have three league goals apiece this term despite playing in the majority of Wrexham’s League One fixtures.

Lynch stands at 6 feet 5 inches tall so, if he does move to Wales, he could be a long-term replacement for Palmer or Fletcher.
