With Wrexham chasing yet another promotion this season, fans are expecting big moves in the January transfer window.
Wrexham are right in the League One title race with more than half of the campaign gone, and Phil Parkinson’s side could well be playing Championship football next season at this rate.
Since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over as Wrexham owners, the club has risen through the Football League at a rapid rate, and fans have seen many players come and go in the last four years.
Adding to the squad in January could be key to the Red Dragons’ hopes of going up again this term, with a new striker thought to be at the top of Parkinson’s wishlist.
We know the transfer window can be a hectic time, so The Wrexham Insider has compiled all the incomings and outgoings the club has confirmed this month in one place for you.

Wrexham signings in January 2025
Unfortunately, Wrexham have been frustrated on the transfer front this month, and have only managed to sign one player so far. That’s despite links to various strikers, including Joe Gelhardt, Patrick Bamford, and a seemingly fruitless pursuit of Michael Smith at Sheffield Wednesday.
Transfers in
Wrexham confirmed the signing of Ryan Longman from Hull City on January 24, with a reported £500,000 fee involved to bring the winger to Wales. His arrival could change things for Wrexham in terms of the system Parkinson plays.
Loans in
Wrexham have not brought anyone in on loan this month yet.

Confirmed Wrexham exits in January 2025
Wrexham have been a little busier when it comes to tidying up their squad this month, though, with four players moving on so far. And, Parkinson has hinted at more exits to come, too.
Transfers out
Jon Dadi Bodvarsson finally ended his Wrexham struggles by joining League One strugglers Burton Albion on a free transfer on January 16. He’s been in great form since, and Wrexham fans are missing the Icelandic striker now that he’s firing in the goals for his new club.
Meanwhile, Billy Waters has joined Oldham Athletic after his loan spell at Halifax was brought to an end in the New Year. Halifax had hoped to keep the 30-year-old on loan, but a permanent move has now been sanctioned to the Latics, with Waters’ time at Wrexham ended by mutual consent.
Loans out
Meanwhile, Jake Bickerstaff extended his stay at Altrincham until the end of the season, and it is thought the young striker will end up leaving Wrexham on a permanent basis come the summer.
One player who could have a bright future at Wrexham is Callum Edwards, who has left on loan to join Cymru Premier side Bala Town FC until the end of the season.
