Wrexham are working to add more players to their squad after two new signings have been confirmed this summer.

Ryan Hardie and Danny Ward have joined the Red Dragons from Plymouth Argyle and Leicester City in the last month.

Hardie and Ward have been given squad numbers ahead of the new season, with attention now turning back toward more potential arrivals.

With this in mind, we have rounded up all the latest Wrexham transfer news and rumours coming out of the club this week.

Manchester United youngster joins Wrexham

It’s been nearly a couple of weeks since the Welsh club made any first-team additions.

However, they have set about strengthening their academy this month with the addition of a Manchester United gem.

It has been reported that Welsh Under-17 international Connor Thorley has signed for Wrexham from Manchester United.

Thorley has been featuring for the Dragons during their U19 pre-season tour over the last week in Canada.

Wrexham miss out on Aaron Cresswell

We revealed earlier this summer that Wrexham offered a contract to Aaron Cresswell.

He became a free agent at the end of June, leaving long-time club West Ham United.

It’s now emerged that Cresswell is joining Stoke City after claims that Phil Parkinson’s side ‘dithered’ over finalising a deal for the versatile defender.

Phil Parkinson gives Wrexham transfer update

With no deals seemingly close right now, fans will be eager to see what Phil Parkinson has said about Wrexham transfers.

The club are currently on their 2025 pre-season tour of Australia, and Parkinson has been in contact with a couple of players while away.

He said: “We’re having several meetings. What you see today on the training pitch, there’s a lot of work going on behind the scenes. It’s never easy getting players. Even though a lot of players want to come to play for Wrexham, prying good players away from clubs who don’t want to sell them is never easy. But we’re trying our best.

“There’s a possibility of [signings flying into Australia], but a couple of the ones that I’d say are the closest are both away with their particular clubs at the moment. So there are slight complications.

“But when you’re looking to sign players who are at clubs, you know they’re training, they’re doing preseason, so as much as you want to get them integrated into your group, you know the fitness element will be there anyway.”
