Wrexham are yet to make an American signing in the Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds era but could shop in the MLS market this summer.
Wrexham have been on quite the journey under Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, and are now just over a month away from starting the Championship campaign.
Phil Parkinson is looking for new signings and has so far snapped up Ryan Hardie and Danny Ward from Plymouth Argyle and Leicester City, respectively.
Wrexham are yet to shop abroad in the McElhenney and Reynolds era, preferring to focus on the English market for recruitment.
Many thought Wrexham would bring in an American signing by now, maximising potential commercial impact given the number of Wrexham fans in the United States.
That has not happened yet, but Wrexham do have one rumoured target currently playing in Major League Soccer.

Lionel Messi dazzles against Wrexham target Sunusi Ibrahim
Reports in May suggested that Wrexham were leading the race to sign Sunusi Ibrahim from CF Montreal.
The Nigerian forward is allegedly valued at up to £370,000, meaning Wrexham could take a chance on him for the future without breaking the bank.
Ibrahim is only 22 and has shown flashes of potential since joining CF Montreal from 36 Lion in 2021.
Ibrahim has found minutes hard to come by of late but came off the bench as CF Montreal were beaten 4-1 by Inter Miami on Saturday night.
Appearances have been rare for Ibrahim of late, and he watched on as Lionel Messi ran riot for Inter Miami.
Messi scored twice in a convincing victory, including one trademark Messi goal as he danced past defenders for fun.
Ibrahim was only brought on for the final five minutes, and there just wasn’t much he could do with so little time on the pitch.
Watching Messi’s magic in front of your eyes is a moment in itself, but Ibrahim is surely unhappy with his lack of action this season.
Sunusi Ibrahim surely open to CF Montreal exit
Ibrahim hit six goals in 26 MLS games last season, showing some potential during a hot streak in May and June 2024.
Over a year on, Ibrahim is struggling for minutes and would surely be interested in leaving CF Montreal this summer.
Across nine appearances this season, Ibrahim has played just 56 minutes and his longest appearance lasted only 27 minutes.
On six occasions, Ibrahim’s substitute appearance has amounted to five minutes or less, and he recently went on a spell of eight games without playing a single minute.
Ibrahim’s prospects at CF Montreal don’t look too promising right now, and the door is surely open for Wrexham to strike a deal if Parkinson really is interested.
