Elliot Lee was the hero for Wrexham this weekend in a dramatic win over Crawley Town, and the midfielder claims it proves one thing about the Red Dragons.
After a dismal defeat in midweek against Stevenage, Wrexham needed something special to lift the fans on Saturday, and Phil Parkinson’s men delivered right at the death.
Leading the game until the 90th minute, Wrexham hearts were broken when Crawley pulled a miracle goal out of the bag, but Elliot Lee stepped up with a big header in the final moment to steal the win.
Lee has been praised for his impact on the game, but the playmaker has shared the love for the whole Wrexham squad in his post-match interview.

Wrexham never, ever give up
The 2-1 win over Crawley was typical of Wrexham’s never-say-die attitude; something we’ve seen time and time again in the past.
However, Wrexham have struggled away from the Racecourse Ground this season, making Lee’s goal all the more special.
He told the club’s official YouTube channel: “This is an incredible feeling. It always is when you score but especially a late winner. I think we deserved it on the whole for the game; the lads were brilliant.
“It means everything. It’s the best feeling, I probably won’t sleep. To score in front of the away fans like that, you can’t beat it.”
On what the result means, and what it proves about the Red Dragons roster, Lee added: “I think you know the group, there’s always a reaction, and we needed that after midweek, and other results like Shrewsbury, too.
“We’ve all been chomping at the bit to put that right. Even when they scored, I looked around and sometimes you just know, we always do it at Wrexham. We proved it again here. It’s credit to the group, and it’s fed down from the staff to the players; we’re a tight-knit bunch, we never give up.”
Even throwing two new signings into the mix on Saturday, Wrexham’s dynamic remained the same as it always has been. It’s something Lee heralded as the key to his team achieving success this term.
“The spirit and character is the strongest thing we’ve got, how close we all are. We’re bringing in new lads, great players, and they’re all buying into it, striving for the same goal,” Lee continued. “If we stick together, keep improving day in day out, we can achieve great things by the end of the season.”

Can Wrexham’s spirit and character take them up this season?
Just days ago, it looked like Wrexham were out of the automatic promotion race. And, when Crawley equalised late on, any hopes of a revival in that respected appeared to be off, but Parkinson’s men rallied and secured a massive win.
They are now within three points of a Wycombe team who are still looking for a new manager, and come the end of the season, Wrexham’s grit and determination could make all the difference in the battle for second place.
Wrexham’s away form will still be a concern, but getting that win against Crawley, in the manner in which it occurred, will do wonders for the mentality in the group moving forward.
With a whole month of away games ahead, it is vital that the Red Dragons get over their hoodoo on the road and put together a run of results. At this stage of the season, momentum is everything.
