Wrexham were eyeing up another away victory when they travelled to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester City.
The Foxes suffered relegation from the Premier League last season and have had a subdued start to the 2025/26 campaign.
The Red Dragons’ fortunes have been similarly mixed, though they likely fancied their chances given they were playing away from home.
Prior to Tuesday, Wrexham had won two Championship fixtures this term, both of which were on the road.

A tough challenge was still expected, though, with Phil Parkinson naming an unchanged eleven versus Leicester as he eyed another crucial three points.

George Dobson continues to impress for Wrexham
Wrexham fell behind in the first half when Arthur Okonkwo was easily beaten by Jordan James.
The Dragons sat back for much of the opening 45 but did come close to scoring themselves, though Lewis O’Brien was unable to convert.
Wrexham, despite heavy pressure, were able to keep themselves in the fixture, in no small part due to the efforts of George Dobson.
Ben Sheaf had a tough evening alongside the former Charlton Athletic man and was taken off for Matty James.
But Dobson kept up his stellar start to the campaign with another solid showing against Leicester.
The Wrexham midfielder was labelled ‘super’ after a performance in August.
More recently, Dobson was praised by fans after the 1-1 draw with Derby County. After that clash, the 2024 summer signing was leading the Championship in one area.
And despite Wrexham failing to win on Tuesday, Dobson was once again excellent.
George Dobson stats for Wrexham vs Leicester City
Wrexham signed three midfielders this summer, and it was expected that Dobson would lose his place in the eleven.
However, injury to Ollie Rathbone has allowed the midfielder to keep his place in the team for the time being.
Rathbone is close to returning, but Parkinson may have a hard time dropping Dobson as he continues to prove his worth week in, week out.

Nathan Broadhead came off the bench to equalise and had another good chance to score a winner later on.
He will take many of the plaudits on the night, and rightly so, but Dobson’s efforts should not go without mention.
