Port Vale are travelling to face Wrexham in the EFL Trophy tonight and with the Reds already through, some rotation is likely.
In the first two group games, Wrexham secured wins in both. This sees them a point clear of second and five above third.
It has already been confirmed by Phil Parkinson that he is likely to rotate the squad with this week’s cup doubleheader.
With that being said, injuries have hampered the Reds and as a result, the squad has been stretched quite thin.
It must be said that this team is a difficult one to predict. This is due to the rotation that is potentially available to the squad.
With plenty of depth in spite of all the injuries, there is no shortage of players available.
Here is our predicted XI to face Port Vale…
Wrexham Predicted XI
This is a hard game to try and predict the team for given the injury worries already mentioned. With the Reds already through, rotation could be heavy.
Despite the form of Arthur Okonkwo in recent weeks, Mark Howard will be looking to make his seventh start of the season.
Despite being a fixture of the team in the National League in seasons go by, Bryce Hosannah has suffered many injuries. So far this season he has featured in just 11 minutes. He will be hopeful of a first start against Vale.
Who knows who may feature at centre-back? We have predicted some minutes for Will Boyle, Ben Tozer and George Evans this time around.
After a spat with a fan against Mansfield, it is unclear whether or not James McClean will feature. With that being said, we have predicted him to be in.
Another tough spot to predict is the midfield three. We have predicted Jordan Davies, James Jones and Luke Young. The latter hasn’t started a game since September and will be hopeful of a return to the start.
Again the front two could be any combination of players. We have predicted Sam Dalby and Ollie Palmer, suggesting some rest for Paul Mullin this week.
There is plenty of discussion to be had around this starting XI and as a result, creating a predicted XI has been difficult.
With that being said, there are plenty of great players who can make their mark and give Parkinson a decision to make moving forward.
